You may have guessed from the blog title (From the Desk of ECF) that I love my initials. I also love stationary, writing, pretending to sit at a desk as if I’m Anna Wintour, etc. I’m always looking for ways to make a play on the letter E. So back when everyone was obsessing over sparking joy with Marie Kondo, I put my own twist on things as I searched my own life for daily, little things/items/actions/goods that sparked joy.
I call it ~elevating everyday experiences~
It’s a simple mindset I live by. This philosophy makes the mundane, fun! It’s rooted in my pursuit of better quality goods that last. And I’ve found it to generate more gratitude both intentionally and subconsciously.
Here are 8 things I use & practice to elevate everyday experiences:
PS: you can hover over the names and a link will appear. This is not a commissioned link, just felt like sharing it with you all as they are items I use in my own life and fully recommend :)
Aesop Resurrection Aromatique Hand Balm - smells like citrus and isn’t greasy; literally sitting in my pencil holder on my desk right now.
Cuyana The Easy Tote - I don’t leave the house without this bag! It fits everything that I need for school/work and Cuyana’s leather is amazing quality. Their motto is “fewer, better” and I couldn’t agree more.
Cuyana Travel Case - for the chic traveler. Thank me later!
Miscellaneous Home/Kitchen Goodies from the market at The Lost Kitchen - Erin French is the magician behind the postcard-only RSVP restaurant in Freedom, Maine. When she opened a marketplace, I simply couldn’t resist adding salt dishes, pepper grinders, espresso cups & more to my home. We also have the same initials! :)
A Diptyque candle (or two, or three) - this winter I burned Feu de Bois, I’m currently burning Baies, and next up I want Tubereuse.
New York or Nowhere guest-check notepad - inspired by NY diners; perfect for grocery lists, reminders, or for unique birthday notes to drop into a gift bag.
Reading - my latest read was Vogue’s summer issue (Hello, Barbie!); on my reading list next is Both/And by Huma Abedin.
Channeling creative energy on Pinterest - follow me there @ethancarsonfloyd to get inspiration for your next project and spend less time mindlessly watching tiktoks.
More on my trip to Havana coming soon…from the desk of ECF.
