WHAT'S IN MY BAG
SUMMER TRAVEL SERIES, PART 1: All the things I carried in my Cuyana tote bag for a recent flight to Vancouver BC
Hiya readers! There are some fresh faces on here so I want to be the first to welcome you to le blog. I’m dispatching fresh off a redeye from Vancouver, British Columbia where I just spent an adventurous summer weekend away. I’ll have a full write-up of recs to share from that trip soon, but no matter what airport I’m flying in or out of, one thing is the same: my carry-on tote bag full of travel necessities. For part 1 of my curated summer travel series, allow me to unpack the bag for you.
An everyday classic, Cuyana’s The Easy Tote is my black-leather bag of choice. It fits my laptop, grad school textbooks, or work notepads, depending on the day, and as you can see, it doubles as a chic in-flight carry-on with room for plenty of essentials.
I can never have enough pouches. This cheeky one (i’m working on my french just in case) goes with me everywhere. I kept an old postcard from the Guggenheim Museum plus an old ski pass inside as reminders of past travels. I tossed in my Byredo Hand Cream and Roll-on Oil, too. I love the notes of juniper, amber and sandalwood in their gypsy water perfume. It keeps me smelling fresh before landing.
Postcards are a must! I picked up a few in Whistler, the ski mountain north of Vancouver, to send to friends.
Passport & passport cover - mine is a beautiful, black leather case from Tiffany & Co., reminding me of my home in New York no matter where I go.
Flights can be chilly and temps vary from departure to arrival destinations. I’ve learned the hard way to always bring a light sweater with me. Mine is an old one from Sandro and can be worn with almost anything. Not to mention, the blue color matches my eyes!
In-flight reading, anyone? Recent airport magazine pick-ups include dwell’s travel issue, Elle feat. Anya Taylor-Joy, and New Beauty, which this month includes a rapid fire q&a with my hometown actress fave, Abigail Spencer.
One more pouch, this time a Cuyana side pouch that came with my toiletries bag, repurposed into a phone charger / AirPods / wired earbuds catch-all.
A film camera for snapping vacation candids! Normally, I bring my Minolta riva zoom, but I am getting it repaired so I picked up a disposable from the pharmacy. Talk about a throwback!
